Welcome

Doula de Coco

Your doula in Ho Chi Minh City, in French and English

A nurse by training and a doula, based in Ho Chi Minh City for 13 years, I support you and your co-parent from pregnancy through the first months: at home, in a place of your choice, or online.

My mission

What is a doula?

A doula is a resource person who supports expecting and new parents through everything a child's arrival stirs up: emotions, the body, the organization of daily life. She can be present from the moment you start thinking about a baby, during pregnancy, on the day of the birth, and in the weeks that follow.

Depending on your needs, she informs you, helps you prepare your birth plan, massages you, eases things at home… But above all, she listens to you, kindly and without judgment, respecting your choices.

By your side, in practice:

  • to welcome your doubts, fears and emotions
  • to prepare you for birth and the postpartum period
  • to help the co-parent find their place
  • to prepare for breastfeeding and the first days with baby
  • to point you to the right healthcare professionals if needed

With Doula de Coco, I have chosen to go beyond the role of a doula: I also offer moments to care for women at other stages of their lives, through Ayurvedic massages, workshops and circles, such as the mothers & teens circle. I can also help you prepare, or even organise, your baby shower.

Having a doula means surrounding yourself with someone you can count on, for real physical and emotional support.

A doula's support always complements medical care.

About me

Mathilde, nurse, mother and doula

Hello, I'm Mathilde!

A nurse by training, I then spent nearly ten years running a nursery, surrounded by little ones and their parents. There I learned the essentials: to listen, to reassure, and to support each family at its own pace.

Then I became a mother myself. And everything was turned upside down! The immense joys, the doubts, the exhaustion, the unanswered questions… I understood how precious it is to be well supported and well informed so you can go through these moments with a lighter heart. Far from my family, in a country whose language and codes I didn't master, I would have loved to have someone by my side!

That is where my wish to become a doula was born. I trained at the Cybèle International School of Support in Canada, to offer expecting and new parents the support I sometimes lacked.

Based in Ho Chi Minh City for 13 years, I know the challenges of expat life: a different birth culture, the language barrier, the absence of loved ones. I support you and your co-parent through pregnancy, birth and the first months, so that you can live this beautiful adventure with confidence and serenity.

Testimonials

They trusted me

Mathilde was a precious help throughout the preparation for my third birth. Thanks to her listening, her advice and her kindness, we were able to experience this moment the way we wanted: as natural as possible.

Her support was indispensable, especially in a country where birth culture is very different and where the language barrier could have made things complicated.

I also greatly appreciated her support after the birth: her advice helped me enormously to get through the first weeks with total serenity.

A huge thank you Mathilde for your presence and your support! If a fourth baby were to show up in Vietnam, we would definitely call on you again!
